Comfort Yeates

In 2019 Doing it for Dan provided a grant so that Comfort could compete in the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Three years later in November 2022 Comfort won an individual gold medal and women’s team gold medal to become Tumbling World Champion.

Comfort's story

Comfort Yeates is a tumbler training at Andover gymnastics club. In 2019 Comfort had the opportunity to compete with the junior Team GB team at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan but as none of these costs are funded all costs have to be met by the family.  Comfort’s mum Annie approached the charity for help as she was unable to afford the cost to send Comfort but desperately did not want her to miss out on the opportunity.

On that occasion Comfort came 8th but the experience spurred her on to believe in herself and keep going.

Fast forward to 2022 and having originally been selected as a reserve in the women’s senior British squad of four gymnasts, after a last minute call-up Comfort went on to win an individual gold medal and women’s team gold medal to become the women’s tumbling world champion in Sofia, Bulgaria!

Comfort’s mum Annie said “We couldn’t have done it without the support we have had over the years. A massive thank you to Doing it for Dan for giving Comfort the opportunity – you have been amazing!
