Tye Leo-Stroud – (Athletics)

Tye Leo-Stroud joined the Swindon Harriers Athletics club in October 2016 after showing great potential at his Primary School sports day. He was selected to represent the Harriers in the Wessex and Youth Development Leagues, competing in the 100m, 200m, Shot and High jump. Tye progressed well, breaking the Swindon sprint records for 75m, 100m and 200m in the Under 13 Boys age group. He went on to become the Wiltshire County Champion at 100m and 200m, and was selected to represent Wiltshire at the South West of England Counties Championships. At this event he set a new championship record in the final of the 100m to claim Gold. Tye ended the 2017 season ranked number 3 in the UK at 100m and number 13 in the UK at 200m. The season culminated with Tye being named the Swindon Harriers U13 Boy Track Athlete of the year 2017.

Tye currently trains 3 times a week at the County ground Athletics track and aims to compete in the 2018 England U15 Athletics Championships in the summer. Doing it for Dan’s kind grant will help Tye participate in a very busy season ahead and will enable him to purchase his own high quality equipment. He is very grateful for the support this great charity has provided.

Alexa Evans – (Gymnastics)

Alexa is 10 years old and a member of the Women’s Artistic Squad at The Wiltshire School of Gymnastics in Melksham. She has been doing gymnastics for 4 years and commits to training for 25 hours a week.

During 2017,she successfully competed nationally and her combined score from her two qualifying competitions, placed her 9th in Great Britain. As a result of this wonderful achievement, she has been selected for the 2018 British Gymnastics Pathway Development Squad. She will have the opportunity to attend National Training Camps during the year and train alongside other young talented gymnasts. Alexa is also a member of The South West of England Squad.

Once again, both Alexa and I are truly grateful for this funding, it will play a huge part in the opportunities she will be able to access during 2018.

Alex Titcombe – (Ice Hockey)

Alex has been selected to train with the Swindon Wild Cats Academy.
