Our Latest 2024 Grant Recipients

Doing It For Dan is proud to announce our latest grant recipients:

 

Ayonla

A young Swindon resident, Ayonla has quickly made a name for himself in Powerlifting. After training in school, he began competing in 2023. His dedication paid off as he secured second place at the British Nationals in March 2024 and qualified for both the World and European Championships.

 

Daisy

As a flyer with Swindon Lightning, Daisy dreams of competing in the prestigious All-Star Cheerleading Competition in Orlando, USA. She and her team are working hard to achieve this goal in 2025.

 

Freddie

Eleven-year-old Freddie is a multi-talented athlete who excels in football, rugby, cricket, and ice hockey. Since starting ice hockey in February 2024, he's rapidly progressed to Level 8 ice skating and joined the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy. His unwavering commitment and passion for the sport inspired him to strive for a professional ice hockey career.

 

Harry

Harry, a talented hammer thrower representing England, is currently pursuing his studies at Brunel University in London. In 2024, he claimed the British University Champion title and secured a silver medal at the England U23 Championships. With his sights set on the European U23 Championships in 2025, Harry's coaches praise his coachability, positive attitude, and unwavering dedication.

 

Kiah

Kiah, a figure skater from Swindon, is training in ice dance with her partner Jamie. They aspire to compete in the British Championships later this year. Kiah's previous experience in solo ice dance, where she achieved multiple top-ten finishes in national and international events, positions her well for success in the junior couples category.

 

Swindon Shock

Swindon Shock empowers disabled children and young people in Swindon and Wiltshire through wheelchair basketball. The club focuses on physical and psychological well-being, life skills development, and fostering a sense of belonging. Doing It For Dan is thrilled to support the club by providing a grant for a development wheelchair.

Kairi

Kairi's passion for skating has led her to achieve significant progress in just two and a half years. She's dedicated to her training and has recently secured first place at the Young Stars competition in Sheffield. Kairi's goal is to become a coach and inspire other young skaters.

 

Michaela

Michaela, a talented 16-year-old hockey goalkeeper, has made remarkable strides in a relatively short time. She's actively involved in various teams, including Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, and the regional Talent Academy in Oxford. Her dedication to the sport extends beyond playing, as she enjoys coaching junior players and participating in leadership programs.

 

Louis Tutcher

Louis Tutcher represents Wiltshire, England, and Great Britain in the hammer throw. He recently showcased his talent at the European Championships in Slovakia, where he placed seventh as an under-18 athlete. Louis's commitment to his sport is evident as he balances his athletic pursuits with his studies at Hartpury College and his passion for farming. He aims to compete at the under-20 European Championships in Finland in 2025.
