Please read the information below about some fantastic new young people we’re funding. This wouldn’t happen without our brilliant helpers and supporters!

We’ve also decided to refund some of our young Stars from last year as they are working hard and achieving great things: Tye Leo-Stroud (Athletics), Alexa Evans (Gymnast), Cador Beautyman (Fencing), Phoebe Dean (Football), Alex Davis (Ice Hockey), Zoe Hewlett (Climbing).

We wish you all the best for this year!

Kamile Mickexiciute

Kamile is 7 years old, and was selected for the Great Britain ice skating development squad. Kamile is a very determined skater, skating 5 times a week nearly twice a day. Her dream to compete in Olimpics one day 🙂

Thank you for your support, it really means a lot for us.

Harry Ricketts

I’m Harry and I’m 14 years old.  I’m a member of Swindon Harriers Athletics Club and also Newbury Athletics Club, as well as a member of Wroughton Swimming Club.

My biggest achievement in 2018 was coming 3rd place as an Under 15 Hammer thrower at the British Championships in August, and I was also delighted to set a new Wiltshire County record for the Junior Boys Hammer in May.  I was proud to wear a Wiltshire vest and compete for my County at the English Schools Track & Field event in July, where I took part in both the Hammer throwing competition and was also a member of the 4 x 100 metre relay team.

I have recently moved up into the Under 17 age group for athletics which means I will be throwing heavier weights for 2019, and I am looking forward to really working hard this year as a first year Under 17 athlete.   I am delighted to have received funding from #DoingItForDan and would like to say a massive thank you to all who support this amazing charity.

Josh Ricketts

I’m Josh.  I’m 17 and a member of both Swindon Harriers Athletics and Newbury Athletics Clubs and I train in both locations.  My main discipline is as Hammer thrower, but I also throw the shot put and discus too.  In 2018 I achieved 7 x gold medals at County level (Wiltshire) competitions and 2 silvers and 2 gold at South West competitions.  I set new Wiltshire County and Wiltshire County Schools records for Hammer (last set 20 years ago!) and  I was selected as part of the Wiltshire team for the English Schools Track & Field Championships where I took part as first year Senior Boy as a Hammer thrower and came 7th place, and I am hoping to have the opportunity to improve this position in 2019.  Thank you to everyone at Doing It For Dan in supporting me on this journey.

Katie Scott

I am a 2nd year Junior cyclist from Oxfordshire and I will be riding for Cycle Team on Form in 2019. I had a solid 2018/19 cx season, and raced in various cyclocross world cups across Europe for Team GB. Last year I had a strong road season, my main result being 4th in the National Junior Road Championships. For 2019, I am aiming to have another successful season, racing the National Junior Road Series and my biggest ambition is to race the 2019 Junior World Champs in Yorkshire.

A huge thank you to the Doing it for Dan charity for helping me purchase a power meter that will significantly help with my training!
