Doing it for Dan is a grant giving charity set up in 2016 in memory of 11 year old Daniel Climance.
We provide grants for sports related items such as equipment, kit, coaching and club fees, helping young people to achieve their sporting dreams.
Daniel, or Dan as he was known to his friends and family, sadly lost his life in a road traffic accident in 2015 leaving a deep hole in the lives of all who knew him.
Dan was kind, caring, and was at his happiest when playing sport. He played football for Wootton Bassett U11 team and prior to that had played for Highworth Town Juniors. He had also completed his second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Through Doing it for Dan we can help other children to achieve their sporting dreams and fulfil their potential. We know this is something that Dan would be very proud of.
Doing it For Dan raises the majority of its own funds with the help of our trustees and volunteers as well as amazing people doing crazy things for sponsorship! We couldn’t help children to achieve their sporting potential without that support, enthusiasm and encouragement.
We believe that every child deserves the right to access sport and fulfil their sporting potential. A grant from us can remove the financial barriers to sport that some children face and make sport a level playing field for all.
Our grant recipients are better equipped and generally have greater self belief, confidence and motivation to do well, increasing their sporting performance.
With little or no other access to financial support the bank of mum and dad can sometimes run dry. With our help children can continue to train, compete and participate in sport.
